  1. In its various iterations, The Gerry Mulligan Sextet was a relatively short-lived group. Actually, in retrospect, its approximately two years of existence may have been about the same or even a little more than the average tenure of a Jazz group; perhaps it is just wishful thinking on my part that the group’s tenure would be longer because I was such a great fan of its music.
